I am glad you’re here
Kate Loewenstein
Therapist | Founder
Hi, I’m Kate Loewenstein, LCSW (she/her) — a therapist, practice owner, and lifelong student of what helps people heal. For as long as I can remember, people have opened up to me. I’ve always been tuned in to the emotions in a room and curious about what lives beneath the surface of people’s stories. That curiosity eventually led me to a career I absolutely love: helping adults make sense of their inner worlds and find freedom from the old patterns that keep them stuck.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve worked with clients navigating anxiety, depression, complex trauma and difficult relationships. I’ve learned that healing doesn’t happen through advice or quick fixes — it happens through safe, consistent connection. That’s the foundation of everything I do.
My Approach
My work is relational and collaborative. That means therapy with me feels like a genuine conversation, not a clinical interview. I listen deeply, offer honest reflections, and bring my whole self into the room — warmth, humor, and all. I’m active and direct when it helps you see something new, but always attuned to your pace and capacity.
My work is informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS). Together, we explore the different “parts” of you — the ones that worry, shut down, please, or protect — and approach them with compassion instead of criticism. I also weave in attachment and trauma-informed principles to help you build safety in your body and relationships.
My goal is for therapy to feel authentic, safe, and deeply human — a place where you can finally let your guard down and feel seen.
My Areas of Focus
Over the years, I’ve found that many of my clients come to therapy during seasons of transition, overwhelm, or disconnection — when the strategies that once worked no longer do. My work is especially well-suited for people who are ready to look inward with honesty and compassion.
I specialize in supporting adults who are navigating:
Anxiety and overthinking — finding calm when your mind feels constantly “on.”
Burnout and perfectionism — learning to care for yourself without guilt or pressure.
Relationship and communication challenges — building healthier, more connected ways of relating.
Parenting concerns — understanding your triggers, setting compassionate boundaries, and showing up more calmly and intentionally for your children.
Life transitions — adjusting to changes in career, identity, parenting, or loss.
Self-worth and identity concerns — untangling old patterns of doubt and rediscovering a grounded sense of self.
I strive to create a welcoming, affirming space for all clients, including those who identify as LGBTQ+. In all of these areas, my focus is on helping you understand yourself more deeply — not to judge or fix, but to create the conditions for real growth, healing, and choice.
